A 60-minute opera based on real-life experiences that immerses audiences in the Roofer subculture, examining the extreme lifestyle of urban explorers. Featuring a soprano and a baritone, along with an instrumental ensemble and electronics, the work delves into the lives of influencers across post-Soviet countries and highlights generational conflict and forced adaptability to the harshness of an industrial landscape.

Commissioned by the Stuttgart State Opera in 2023 under a non-exclusive license, ICARO began as a micro-opera (creation supported by the Akademie Musiktheater Heute and the Lithuanian Cultural Commission) and was premiered by the Ensemble Modern in 2021 at Frankfurt LAB.
