Two figures depart from the ordinary paths of everyday life and explore the vertical boundaries of urban living.
Against this background, "ICARO" tells the story of two characters reflecting the unrest of an entire generation. As members of the Roofer subculture, they represent, on the one hand, the current, real world; and as personifications of the mythological figure Icarus, on the other hand, the timeless projection plane of human dream towards freedom – aware of the constant danger of falling, Strangers in their own city, they depart from the ordinary paths of everyday life and explore the vertical boundaries of urban living..
The balancing act between concentration and thrill thrives on the tension between extremes: height and depth, physical energy and mental alertness, fame and failure – ultimately life and death. "The music attempts to create this with layers of sound from electronics, instrumental ensemble, and the human voice," reveals composer Alessandro Baticci. The stage and music blend into a suggestive atmosphere of immediately experienced stress and liberation.
